Our team
Since joining Trinity in 2022, Dominic Furlano has employed his dual background in architecture and construction to help designers and field-trades teams work confidently together to deliver beautifully crafted homes.
Dominic grew up in the rural area south of Buffalo, NY, where he worked with his family framing homes, driving semi trucks, and running heavy machinery—all while idolizing his master-welder grandfather. He attributes his first interest in art and architecture to his grandmother, who explained what an architect does when he was just 8 years old. From that moment on, he knew he wanted to become both a master builder and architect.
Paul Leonard came to Trinity in February of 2022 with experience in large-scale construction supervision, as well as extensive experience specializing in all facets of concrete. Paul takes great pride in building lasting relationships with homeowners and subcontractors.
Paul began his career in 1995 as a flat-work concrete union laborer. In 2012, he joined Structural Preservation Systems, and began performing large scale specialized concrete repairs in oil refineries both in the U.S. and abroad. He eventually became a foreman and then superintendent for the company. He holds a CDL and also has experience operating multiple pieces of heavy equipment and trucks.
Chris Bramley became a superintendent for Trinity in 2023, after working with the company as both a finish carpenter and an assistant project manager. In his 15 years in woodworking, Chris has dedicated himself to delivery of a high-quality finished product, and has also honed his skills in problem solving, project planning, and creative design solutions.
Chris began his career in Pennsylvania, where he worked alongside his father in the family’s custom cabinetry business. Here he learned everything from milling the rough lumber, laying out and building custom cabinets, to custom finishing techniques and installation.
Dan Simpler joined the company in 2021 with many years of experience as a private contractor and as a superintendent in the Sarasota construction industry. He is a team player who brings a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence to every project.
After earning his degree in construction management from Colorado State University, Dan and his family relocated to Sarasota to be close to friends and family. His management of many commercial and residential construction projects over the years has included work for UTC Mall, The Embassy Suites Hotel, and Chris Craft Boats.
Greg Besaw began working with the Trinity team in 2019 after garnering over 20 years of experience on his own in custom home building. Greg prides himself on forming and fostering meaningful working relationships with clients and trade partners.
Greg started his path in construction at a very young age working in his father’s custom cabinet shop in a small town in upstate New York. Greg earned a scholarship to play college football in Rochester, NY, and pursued a degree in business management. After college he moved to Virginia, where he met his wife and started a family. In 2003, he started his own construction company and began building custom homes around the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
When not at work, Greg, who has a wife and three children, enjoys boating, attending sporting events, and exploring the beautiful Florida Coast.
Sherry LePage has worked as a project coordinator for Trinity since 2022 and in the construction industry for over 20 years. She continuously educates herself on current construction standards and contributes her knowledge of sustainability to aid in the team in the National Green Building Standard Certification process.
Sherry began her career in telecommunications infrastructure and quickly learned that building was her passion. She gained eminent knowledge of home building and all aspects of vertical construction while working for Todd Johnston Homes as a project manager, and later expanded her skills by assisting in the planning of luxury custom homes with Josh Wynne Construction.
Sherry’s most valuable time is spent with her family and friends. She enjoys kayaking, camping, and volunteering with local organizations.
Prior to joining the Trinity team in 2021, Jesse Cocozza spent the better part of two decades as a carpenter. Jesse was the owner/operator of a successful and highly sought after carpentry company that serviced high-end residential builds in the Sarasota area. He has an attention to detail, a strong penchant for precision, and is an incredibly gifted craftsman.
While Jesse manages new construction projects, he also provides BIM modeling services for Trinity projects, coordinates supplemental construction documents with our trade partners, and provides technical support for our team with our BIM modeling software and onsite measuring and layout devices.
Jesse’s greatest treasure outside of his faith are his wife, two children, and his family dogs.

Jay Schoenfelder manages new construction projects and renovations for Trinity, as well as financial operations, client management, marketing, and business development. He has been with Trinity since 2019. Jay utilizes his problem-solving skills and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to manage custom building projects. He believes in effective communication, leadership, integrity, and leveraging relationships and synergies to over-deliver and out-perform.
Jay credits his passion for building and eye for detail to his father, uncles, and grandfathers. Surrounded by meticulous builders, carpenters, and mechanics, Jay’s childhood was blanketed with exposure to precise custom carpentry, framing, metal working, electrical, and plumbing installations. He even participated in transmission and engine rebuilding, mechanical inventions, and equipment enhancements.
Before completing his engineering degree at the South Dakota State University, Jay spent one year training with some of the top engineers in the Midwest at a Bobcat Ingersoll-Rand facility in Bismarck, North Dakota. Working with and leading a team of professionals to implement factory improvements, this is where Jay learned of another passion, project management. While at Bobcat, in only one year, Jay and his team successfully integrated over 30 material handling robots into the operation, where this new equipment aided in the expansion and increased capacity of the facility to increase throughput and service new demand.
In addition to his B.S. in manufacturing engineering, Jay earned an M.B.A from the Vucurevich School of Business. He brings to Trinity 10-plus years’ expert-level experience in building custom homes and renovations, and 10-plus years in manufacturing engineering and management for medical and industrial corporations.
Just before graduating from South Dakota State University, Jay accepted an Engineering position with Graco, Inc., a fluid handling equipment manufacturer based out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Minneapolis, Minnesota. While working with Graco for 5 years, Jay had the opportunity to work with an extremely talented group of engineers, financial managers, and business leaders. The highlights of this opportunity include working on the manufacturing side to develop processes for new equipment releases, and also working with an acquisition team to purchase, relocate and retool an entire precision manufacturing operation.
Jay is a devoted husband and father who enjoys family time, great music, and spending time outdoors fishing and camping, as well as playing baseball and soccer with his children. He also has fun doing metalworking and carpentry in his spare time.
Michael Cocozza formed Trinity Construction & Design in 2010, after many years working in commercial construction, and later, in luxury home construction for some of the area’s most respected builders—including his own father.
Mike, who studied design at the University of Central Florida, grew up working on job sites here in Sarasota alongside his father and twin brother Jesse. The two brothers continually pushed one another to become better and more efficient carpenters. Their carpentry work for local builders over the years has been highlighted in numerous magazines and is the crown jewel of some of the area’s most notable luxury homes.
Mike found himself in a very unique position to gain market share as a new builder when he was asked to assume a handful of projects from clients who had not been satisfied with the work of prior builders. Focusing on three main pillars of his business philosophy—transparency, integrity, and organization—he was able to turn these projects around and deliver to his clients beautifully crafted homes in which they now take pride.
Since that time, Mike has remained true to his business philosophy, steering the company through a period of monumental growth which has been recognized by The Tampa Bay Business Journal twice as being among Tampa Bay’s 50 fastest growing companies across all industries.
Michael credits his success to God, his family, his team at Trinity, and his clients. His father often told him while he was working in the family business, “You’ll never be any better than your client’s perception of you, and you’ll only ever be as good as your worst subcontractor.” These often-heard quotes help form the foundation of Trinity’s success.
When not at work, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, Brittany, and his two children.
