Building in Cherokee Park, SarasotaA home rooted where Sarasota’s oldest oaks meet the bay
West of the Trail, under canopy oaks a century in the making, Cherokee Park rewards a builder who plans deep and stays present. Trinity built Bay View here with the late John Potvin: open books, a model that runs months ahead of the jobsite, and a builder on site every day.
A neighborhood that does not trade on newness
Cherokee Park is one of Sarasota’s established West-of-Trail addresses: mature oak canopy, deep-rooted prestige, and the quiet of an older bayfront neighborhood minutes from downtown and Southside Village. The lots here carry history. Building well among them means respecting what is already standing, the trees, the scale, the grade, and bringing a level of preparation that protects all of it.
That is the work Trinity does before the work: the home modeled and coordinated long before ground breaks, so the site is disturbed once, correctly, and the finished home sits in Cherokee Park as though it had always belonged there.
A Cherokee Park home, built with a local legend
Bay View, Blue Heron Drive
Architect: John Potvin | Interiors: By Owner | New construction, coastal contemporary
Bay View is a coastal-contemporary home on the bay side of Cherokee Park, designed by the late John Potvin, an architect whose work is woven through Sarasota’s finest streets. Potvin was, in the truest sense, a local legend, and building one of his designs was a privilege Trinity does not take lightly. Trinity built Bay View to honor that design, with the discipline his work deserved: full-time on-site supervision, BIM and SketchUp coordination ahead of the field, and detailing that holds up to a designer’s eye. Interiors were directed by the owner. The result is a 4,000-square-foot home that reads as intentional from the street, under the oaks, to the water.
The same standard, from the first conversation
An established bayfront lot leaves no room for surprises. Trinity budgets in the open, so you see where every dollar sits at every point in the build. The home is modeled months before the jobsite moves, so conflicts are solved on the screen, not in the field. And a Trinity builder is on your site every day, holding the standard that an older, tree-lined neighborhood and a designer’s drawings both demand. It is the same approach that has earned Trinity Sarasota’s awards and, more tellingly, the clients who become our next clients.
The architects and designers we build with
The best homes in Cherokee Park come from a true collaboration between builder and designer. Trinity built Bay View alongside the late John Potvin, a local legend whose designs shaped some of Sarasota’s most admired streets, and we hold that same respect for every architect and designer we work with. We protect design intent, bring construction expertise that improves durability and execution, and treat the clients our design partners refer to us as our own.
