Michael Cocozza

President / Owner

Michael Cocozza, President of Trinity Construction & Design, grew up working for his father, a builder in Sarasota, Florida. As a native to Sarasota, Michael has witnessed Sarasota’s spectacular growth over the last 40 years. Michael grew up working on jobsites with his twin brother Jesse.  Their close relationship inspired the two of them to friendly competition. The two brothers continually pushed one another to become better and more efficient carpenters. This persistence and dedication were the key components which allowed them to work for the area’s most awarded luxury home builders. The carpentry work the Cocozza brothers completed has been published in numerous magazines and is the crown jewel of some of the area’s most notable luxury homes. Working for the area’s top builders has provided first-hand knowledge of all aspects of construction and also the importance of processes and procedures.

Michael studied design at the University of Central Florida.  This understanding of design coupled with his construction experience has propelled him quickly in the local luxury home market.  After college, Michael worked in the commercial construction industry, gaining experience in large commercial projects.  His education in design along with a sharp focus on details allowed him to excel in the commercial construction industry.

In 2010, Michael focused his attention on residential home construction and remodeling and Trinity Construction & Design was formed. Gaining market share in this competitive local market was not an easy task, he knew that his company needed to stand apart from its competition.  He found himself in a very unique position when he was asked to assume a handful of projects from clients who were not happy with their current builders.  Focusing on three main components of his business, transparency, integrity and people, he was able to turn these projects around and help his clients by delivering beautifully crafted homes.

Michael credits his success to God, family, team and his clients. His father often told him while he was working in the family business that “you’ll never be any better than your client’s perception of you and you’ll only ever be as good as your worst subcontractor.” These often heard quotes are the foundation of Trinity Construction & Design’s Success. In 2018, only 8 years after starting his company, Michael and his team were honored to have their Oyster Bay project featured on the cover of Home and Design Magazine.

Michael operates Trinity Construction and Design with His wife Brittany who is a 2007 graduate of Ringling School of Design, Jay Schoenfelder V.P. of Operations, Nehemiah Thomson V.P. of Field Operations and Emma Evans, Office Manager.
